The apostle John writes in 1 John 2:15-17: Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. We are called to be a people of the Gospel; the Gospel must be central to our lives. Remember Paul said to the letter in Romans that those are Jews truly who are ones inwardly, written on the heart. So this letter is saying these are not spiritual Jews as we would understand the people of God, but they are people who have stirred up trouble. Hes already won.
